In total, the Committee heard from more than 30 witnesses, including CRCVC&#8217;S Executive Director, Aline Vlasceanu, and received 10 briefs.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\nThe Committee held these meetings on the status of victim\u2019s rights in Canada to address \u201cthe shortcomings of current legislative and policy measures available to victims of crime\u201d.<br \/>\r\nThe report includes a total of 13 recommendations, one being to amend the Canadian Victims Bill or Rights in order to establish a right to access victim assistance and support.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\nUnderstanding that services need to adapt to diverse victims\u2019 needs is crucial in progressing victims\u2019 rights and access to services. Not only is there a lack of accessible services to victims from marginalized groups, but the few options which do exist are stretched thin.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\nAccording to CRCVC Executive Director, Aline Vlasceanu, \u201cadequate resources is the biggest hurdle to accessing mental health supports\u201d.
