Join us on Thursday, March 31st at 6:30pm EST for our monthly Homicide Support Group, with special guest Dr. Kristine Peace!
Dr. Kristine Peace (she/her) is an Associate Professor in the Psychology department at MacEwan University in Edmonton, Alberta. She grew up with exposure to forensic issues from a young age as her father was a police officer, and her interests in forensic psychology developed naturally in this regard. She completed her Masters and PhD at Dalhousie University, with a specialization in forensic psychology, before taking a faculty position at MacEwan in 2006. Her research interests are diverse, including trauma and memory in forensic contexts, PTSD and malingering, psychopathic traits, emotion, and how perceptions of victims are influenced by a host of extralegal factors such as their gender, race, sexual identity, level and type of emotional expressiveness, victim impact statements, and the types of crimes they have experienced.
